Regular investment in foreign shares

Hi,

I've done some research on regular investing - while it seems most stockbroker offers regular investment service to UK shares, none seems to offer regular investment in overseas shares. Why is that? Is there some tax rules forbidding regular investing in foreign stocks?

I thought the reason they could offer the cheap regular investment in large UK shares waa due to the large number of clients wanting to purchase those shares each month.

If I wanted to top up my holding in SK Telecom, the NYSE listed Korean telecom company, I doubt there will be thousands of their customers wanting to do the same at the same time.

It's a good question. I am with Youinvest and have previously suggested that they offer this option, during client surveys but so far, nothing has changed.

I would have thought that there would be sufficient interest in the likes of Coca Cola, Berkshire Hathaway, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, etc, to make it worthwhile. I find it hard to believe that there is a lot of/more interest in some of the more obscure FTSE 350 and smaller shares, ETFs and ETCs that are currently offered.
