  • Good Morning everyone another nice day here with milky high cloud and sunshine. He Who Knows is off fishing today so perfect for him. I had a very bad night last night, it was so sticky I couldn't sleep so having moved into the cooler front room as a solution I hadn't been there above 5 minutes when an alarm sounded somewhere in the village and just kept going for most of the rest of the night. Got off for a doze at 3.30 ish just as it was beginning to get light. Going to have an easy day today and just potter.

Have yourselves a nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.

    Hi everyone,

I went to see the neuro-surgeon with DD yesterday. He was lovely and we both trusted him which is a good thing. It was a bit worrying seeing the damage to DD's neck and discussing the options with him. They basically boiled down to three - wait and see and hope the disc retracts by itself (which he didn't think was likely), have a painkilling injection which only works in a third of people or an op to have the disc removed. He was very honest about the possible risks and when she decided to wait and see he told her the danger signs to look for and if they happened to ring his secretary.

It's scary and worrying so I am concentrating on believing that the disc will retract. Has anyone here had experience of disc removal?

Today I'm having a pottering day, I feel very tired and achey so I'm not going to do much, especially as I'm driving in to London tomorrow to bring DD home because she can't cope with public transport at the moment.

Gorgeous here but the air seems very heavy, all the bedding has been washed and is on the line.

Popped into Aldi for main shop this morning and only spent £23.16 so I am happy with that.

Things are going to be tight here for a while because of the cost of a new clutch and brake disks........... smiley-shocked028.gif?w=584ouch

So we are using up the stock cupboard and only buying eggs, milk and fresh foods for a couple of months, I need to run down the freezer and stock cupboard anyway. I will fill it after the car repair has been paid for.

csarina and topsy, get well soon xx

Off to cut a lettuce out of the garden for dinner tonight which is egg and bacon pie using left over gammon from last night, it even did sarnies for lunch as well, plus I have the stock in the freezer to use in Autumn soups.
We will have it with salad potatoes and a nice mixed salad. Got a big bowl of strawberries from the garden this morning, not enough to do five of us though, so I have made a sponge and will fill it with the strawberries and some cream and we all get a taste :D

Off to grab some sun while we have some, I will take my knitting out with me, s*d the housework for a day ;)

Hi chums beautiful day here in Kent today.Sis-in-law arrived with a lovely bouquet of flowers AND a pot plant along with a large bag of books:) Bless her .I made extra choc chip cookies and found some left over pastry in the cupboard so whipped up a quick quiche withe some mushrooms, bacon bits and cheese and some of my surplus eggs (courtesy of a friend who's hens have gone mad in the sunshine :)) So we had that for lunch with some salad.Just awaiting DGS Mikey to come in from school, no doubt he will zoom straight to the cookie box :)
DGD Hollys car got picked up so my drive is clear now.Two weeks tomorrow and I get my car back as my six weeks of no driving will be up :):):)
Only 50 days to go until our family holiday and I hope the weather is as nice as today.I can't think of anything nicer than sitting on Cowes front with a flask and my book, watching the sea for an hour or three. Then a slow walk to the pub for a glass of something looong and cold.My idea of heaven
right off to do some more sorting of stuff,I have my friend coming on Monday for a couple of days, and she's great at de-cluttering
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx

Managed to take a bag full of medications down to the chemist for disposal and three pairs of unworn men's safety shoes to the local charity shop. I still have four or five black bags full of clothes for recycling etc to take away.

Dishwasher loaded up and had a late lunch with DD. Washing machine is about to finish and I will hang it outside . Changed middle dd's bed as she is staying over tonight and looked out fresh bedding for youngest as she has a friend staying over.

Found a recipe I want to try tonight for tarragon chicken and rosemary fries from the HB diet book and having a quick sit down for a few minutes while I browse on here.

    Hugs to all

    Good afternoon everyone,

A really gorgeous day here, I'm so glad that I finish at 2.00pm so get to enjoy the rest of the day.:D

DS is working until 11.00 pm and DD is going to the cinema after school with friends, so its just me and DH for a few hours.:)

DH is working, so I am going to give the house a quick tidy up, clean the bathrooms and do the ironing. I need to make some more bread too.

I made some elderflower cordial the other day for the first time, and omg! its lovely, so refreshing and summery tasting. I think I will have to make some more soon as I can't see it lasting very long.:D

I hope to go and potter in the garden too, and plant some more lettuce seeds.

I feel I have so much I want to do especially crafting and cooking, but somehow feel so overwhelmed I don't know where to start, so don't seem to get anywhere. Maybe if I write myself a todo list, I might get some things done.:D

I also think I spend far too long on my laptop so I don't do other things.

Hugs to everyone and hope you have a good afternoon and enjoy the lovely weather.

It's been drizzle then rain and then sunshine loop all day. No washing done.

This morning I washed my new path and then had a two hour session at the drop-in workshop in town. I enjoyed the work and will be doing the same for the next month. Then I did the long-awaited shopping in Oban so the fridge is back to being stocked up.

I almost forgot to collect the currency I'd ordered on Monday so had to back into town to pick it up. When I got home the postie had been and left me three parcels of goods I'd ordered so I am surrounded by cardboard and bubble wrap.

As I'm a bit stiff after my fall yesterday I'm going to get horizontal on the sofa now for a while.

  • This is my second day home. I spent most of yesterday resting in bed. OH was at the bungalow supervising the carpets being laid, not a happy task in many ways, problems with doors etc but all sorted apart from two doors in the hall which need a bit taking off. I need to find an electrician who will hard wire my cooker when it comes next week.

Today I have been a little more pro-active. We went over to the bungalow, DD1 joined us there. OH was in the garden, DD hung all the curtains, so the place looks a bit less desolate. I had enough curtains big enough for all the windows bar the bathroom, will soon whip up a pair for there once I get my sewing room sorted.

Home for lunch, then I went to bed for a couple of hours whilst OH did a couple of errands.

Discovered that neither the PO re-direction or the Green bin had been activated so sorted them out as well.

No TV the dish has gone, so TV and freestat box switchec off.

I went to look for the faabric for the next meeting of ther quilting group, cannot find it............will have another look once we have moved, I need to have the two girls over who are holding the group together and explain the next block.

No bungalow tomorrow, a quick trip Saturday morning with plants from the kitchen and my orchids, then Sunday the fun begins.

I am having all the boxes put in the second bedroom, will unpack them one at a time, maybe a couple of boxes a day till they have all been emptied.

I have the dressing off my scar, it seems to be knitting ok, I have to keep it dry,, can wash it but only with clean water, no soap etc. It is glued not stitched.

Each day I get a little stronger, but I am trying so hard not to do too much......not easy when you are as active as I am used to being.

Right thats me off to bed, back again tomorrow.
