Nursing care capital disregard

Person needs to go into care, elderly wife (in her seventies) still living in the home they own, am I correct in thinking that this capital is disregarded and the LA can't ask for a deferred payment at a later date?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

If you are the husband and still live in the house then it is disregarded. This will change if you try to downsize0
