BT Mobile Rip Off to Broadband customers- If it's too good to be true....

Has anyone else ordered the BT mobile for £5- reduction of £5 for being a broadband customer?
It sounded good for my primary aged child, so yesterday I contacted BT's 0800 number to ask if they capped the contract and I didn't want a shocking bill at the end of the month. I was told that I could cap it at zero pence, by going into my BT account and clicking on 0p ..., therefore I was quick to order (A lovely bonus for the advisor) and I received the SIM today. I went on line to activate it, set parental controls and to cap the spending limit, only to find that the cap limit over and above the original £5 is actually £5 as well, as there is no such thing as 0 pence.
I contacted BT by phone, waited five min’s to connect then explained the situation, she put a note on my account and then passed me onto someone else to cancel the contract, I waited for six min's then hung up as I have better things to do and decided to cancel by replying to an earlier email.
I agree it is a good offer for most people who are mature enough to budget. I am now shopping around for a full package elsewhere on principle and will pay the £10 elsewhere as well, but not to rip off companies like BT.

Perhaps there was some confusion ...you can set the "roaming cap" to 0p but the minimum spend cap is £5 over your allowanceIt's not just about the money0

Hi Silk,
Perhaps there was some confusion, however I clearly stated to the advisor, to clarify any misunderstandings, that under no circumstances will my monthly bill be over £5, the advise I was given was no not ever as long as I set it to 0p.
