Tax credit award & 16 year old

I know this has been mentioned many times before, but I can't see any information about award notices.


I informed tax credits online that my 16 year old would be starting A levels in September, and also child benefit.


I have received letter from child benefit that they will be paying until 2017. so they have the correct information.


However my Tax credit award has just arrived and it shows my 16 year old until 31/08/2015 and says she is no longer a child for tax credit purposes after 31/08, which I know.
But it is showing I only now have one qualifying child from 1/9/15 to 5/4/16 (I have a younger child) so will be paying for the one child and my 16 year old has disappeared from the claim completely. Not showing as a qualifying young person either!
I know they will pay me a reduced amount at the beginning of September, then payments would be sorted for one qualifying child & 1 qualifying young person but I thought my new award would show this now or will they send out a new award in september and put my 16 year old back on there?

They recalculate it all on September 1st, and resend award notices, showing that the second child has been re-included. It's all done automatically, as long as you have told them the required details (which it sounds like you have!)

It confused the hell out of me last year, when it happened!

Thankyou, I told them of another change at the same time online and that's included on this award notice, so I'm hoping they have everything they need for September, just wish I knew the new amount I'll be getting :-)
