Using 0% purchase card instead of balance transfer

Hey all,
Rather than transferring a balance to a 0% balance transfer card, is it possible to instead clear the balance with a 0% purchase card and then clearing the balance off this purchase card within the 0% period?
Isn't it effectively the same thing or are there any restrictions not aware of?
Cheers

No.
You could start putting all your purchases on the 0% card and use the money to then start paying off the other card. But you need a BT (or money transfer) card to directly clear the other card.0 -
