Windows 7 / 8 All-in-One Installer

Hi all

I know that you can create an all-in-one installer for Windows 7 and Windows 8 using the WAIK tools and Sysprep - unfortunately I haven't got that much experience with it yet and don't have the time to focus on it right now.

Basically, rather than having lots of disks for each version of Windows I would like to be able to use one or two disks and simply choose the OS I wish to install (again, this is possible with the above tools).

I would like:

Windows 7 Retail
- Starter (x86/x64)
- Home Basic (x86/x64)
- Home Premium (x86/x64)
- Professional (x86/x64)
- Ultimate (x86/x64)

Windows 7 OEM
- Starter (x86/x64)
- Home Basic (x86/x64)
- Home Premium (x86/x64)
- Professional (x86/x64)
- Ultimate (x86/x64)

Windows 7 Volume
- Starter (x86/x64)
- Home Basic (x86/x64)
- Home Premium (x86/x64)
- Professional (x86/x64)
- Enterprise (x86/x64)
- Ultimate (x86/x64)

And the same for Windows 8 / 8.1 (and XP if there are any around).

I DO NOT WISH FOR CRACKED VERSIONS; I WILL BE ENTERING THE PRODUCT KEYS.

I am an IT Engineer who does regular PC rebuilds and would like to reduce the number of disks I have to use and simplying the process.

Preferably I would like a link to some ISOs which are already built.

Thanks to anybody who can help me out! :)

There is no such thing as Retail, OEM and Enterprise under those circumstances.

You can get hold of Windows 7 Ultimate images and remove the ei.cfg

That will cover all but the Enterprise Edition. You'll have to get that separately.

    Don't forget N & KN Editions.

Pointless downloading someone else's, as you won't be able to confirm it's integrity. That wouldn't be fair on your customers.

Windows 8 is another story altogether.

Okay, thanks for that - makes sense.

So this will allow me to choose the version, but then what would it be? You say it wouldn't be any of OEM, Retail, or Volume so would it then let me use any key and then assign itself based on that?

    Thanks:money:

Easiest way for you to do it if you are inexperienced, is to get hold of the genuine images detailed above, (Ultimate x86 and Ultimate x64) and to create Bootable USB drives of each. Either using the Windows 7 USB Tool or Rufus(or similar). Then you can go in to remove the ei.cfg within each. It's in the Sources folder.
That takes care of all but the Enterprise version. Those you'll need to download or obtain separately.

You'll need to do the same for N & KN images(if you need them).
You don't need the VL builds.

I have the discs, but don't release them to commercial enterprise and I don't see why anyone else here would either, unless they are selling them. I won't do that.

You can make them yourself easily, with little or no experience at all.

The only thing that takes a little work, is when you want to combine everything on one drive. But you don't need to do that at this stage.

Windows 8 will present a different problem. You'll need different SKUs. The images that you will include the general DVD image containing Core/Pro, another, Core Single Language and another Core Connected. Of course you will need both the x86 and x64 images in addition.

Perhaps now you'll understand why people won't hand their work over to commercial enterprise.
If you want to make your living from it, find the time to know what you are doing and create your own build. Then you'll be more confident of what you are installing to your customer's machines.

Yes, this is what you'll see on installation after removing the ei.cfg

OEM discs can contain branding and personalisations.
In other words, when you install a DELL OEM disc to a DELL, it will also install DELL branding and activate without the need for an Internet connection.
Something that you can put together for those particular customers.

I have built my own build stick. It covers Win 7 starter to ultimate in 32 & 64 bit and will also brand and activate automatically if the machine has a SLIC 2.1 BIOS

Perhaps there are no further editions contained within the image. If it's there, it will be within the Sources folder.

It's the product key that you enter that defines whether Windows is a OEM or retail version. There is no other difference between the two.
