The HA said they don't know whose the boundary is and i am loathe to replace it due to the fact of the cost and the likelihood it will be abused again. Also we are aiming to leave this house in two years to get away from aforesaid neighbours. If worst came to worst, could i replace the length of the fence with chicken wire? Our dog is contained without the boundary fence. x
You can:
1. Do nothing
2. Put a new fence in, in a material of your choosing to replace the old one in exactly the same position.
3. Put a fence inside the old fence on your side as close to the old fence as possible.
Each one has advantages and disadvantages.
If you replace the current fence with chicken wire the neighbours may complain and give you loads of grief, plus you will both lack privacy. If you put a fence along side the current fence the neighbours may take the old fence down and abuse the new fence.
Personally I would do as little as possible and just ensure the present fence stays up in some form i.e. patch it up even with chicken wire until I was about to move out then replace it all to sell the house. If the neighbours complain about this just say you don't have money to pay for a new fence at the moment and will replace it when you have the money. They can complain to the HA but as they don't know whose fence it is and as long as the fence is not dangerous the HA won't do anything.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

You will need to contact the land registry who will charge you a small fee to send out paperwork showing which fence you own.Our dream has come true...0
