Car Giant Prices

Hi guys,

Quick question about Car Giant.
I'm a new driver and looking to get a decent, cheap car (as in 1500 cheap) to tide me and my partner over till after our wedding when we'll be able to get a better car.

Everyone keeps saying to check out Car Giant, but based on their website search, the cheapest cars they have are £3000 and up.

Can anyone confirm if this is true or not? I'd feel more comfortable getting something from a bigger dealership like this, as my motoring knowledge is little to none. But the journey out to the location is a big one for me if it's going to be a wasted trip.

Amy advice would be great, thanks!

C

CarGiant don't sell many cars under £2500 anymore

They sell them off at Auction, lots go via Aston Barclay in Chelmsford.

The simple fact is many trade ins to CarGiant are not worth the risk of retailing.

For someone who professes not to have any affiliation with CarGiant, yet again here you are promoting them, and with a surprising knowledge of detail into how, where and why they dispose of their cheap trade ins.

I don't see anything in that post that particularly promotes CarGiant.

Hes always in there with car giant posts though - defending them and promoting them at any opportunity he can, then denies he has anything to do with them.

I wouldnt care if they were that great.

Most of Car Giant's cars are just out of warranty cars, you wont get one of these at your budget. In fact not many large dealers will have cars at your price. The smaller dealers are more likely to have what you want. Don't be put off at buying private.

    +1

    At £1500 on a dealers forecourt you're buying a £750 car with a £750 dealer markup.

Aim to buy privately from someone whos owned the car for a period of time, has a decent history and you'll get a much better car for your money.

You probably cant go far wrong with a petrol focus - cheap as chips to buy and own, lots around, simple mechanicals.

At this price point, private is the way to go. Focus is a great middle size car. Son has a Y reg which is still great to drive. For a small car, look at the Micra. Not very popular but pretty reliable.
