Life Insurance after cancer

I am struggling to find Life Insurance, after having suffered from cancer last year. Its not on going and classed as cured, not in remission, due to the nature of it. However, it still needs to be declared on the application forms. I didn't have a problem getting a mortgage, but cannot find life insurance to protect my partner if anything were to happen (it will take more than cancer for him to be rid of me). Does anyone know any insurers who don't charge silly amounts?

Thanks,

Laura

In my experience insurers normally allow 5 years without re-occurence of cancer before they will look at a proposal seriously.........Sorry.
I have retired from a career in Financial Services........Thank God. Any advice given may be as a result of senile dementia so dont take it too seriously.......;)
  • Have you spoken to an IFA? There are some companies who specialise in impaired lives who may offer you cover but they do not deal direct with the public.
