Hi all.
Trying to decide which laptop to buy. Budget is under £500. Mainly to be used for Internet browsing, watching videos, and Microsoft office. Not into games but will play now and again.
I'm looking at the following 2, both priced at £450.
Hp p289sa with a amd A10 processor and 16 mb ram.

or
Toshiba satellite l50-b-235 with i5 processor and 8mb ram.
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/toshiba-satellite-l50-b-235-15-6-laptop-white-10107515-pdt.html#srcid=11026
which one of them is faster and more reliable? Intel or amd?
Any other recommendations? Must have quick processor and large ram.
Thanks

If you don't mind grade a1 refurb then there is this and it's a quick (seriously whoops the other two) laptop £479.99:

Look at the medions (owned by Lenovo) as well:

The best laptop to purchase would depend on your personal needs. Laptops are all around sufficient and reasonably priced I hope you get all features those you required in Hp.0

CPU "Passmark" scores
A10 - 2793
i5 - 3524
Clear winner is the Intel, as you'd expect
GPU 3D Mark scores
A10 - 2080
i5 - 1060
AMD basically twice as strong.
As ever when comparing Intel to AMD APUs, you get more processing with the Intel, but AMD blows it out of the water for games.0 -
