Contracts/Information Pack from Solicitor

I bought a house last year. During the buying process I was asked to look through some documentation and contracts with my solicitor to double check they were all in order before going ahead with the purchase.
Everything went through fine but I never got a copy of the contract or the documentation we went through. Should I have been given a copy of this documentation?
I'm interested in some of the covenants linked to the property. I remember going through with the solicitor things like 'you cannot have a business from the premises', 'you cannot park boats or caravans outside the property' etc. I can't remember what all of these restrictions were. Can I ask the solicitor for a copy of this documentation? Would they charge me?
Thanks.

The best thing to do is ask the solicitor as most of them keep things on file for a number of years. Some places keep files on the premesis for a few months before moving them to a storage facility. If your documents have gone to storage, they may charge a small fee for retrieval however if you were to explain the situation they may agree not to charge you.

Of course you should have them.
Some conveyancers will charge you to store these for you after Completion. Some may charge to copy them, or to dig them out of storage. But I would resist any charge and insist they send you the originals - if they want to keep copies for their records it's up to them to copy them.....0 -
Thanks. I'll contact them and see what they say. I hope they don't want to charge - I didn't get these documents in the first place!0
