Amex cashback

Options
I was about to sign up to the Amex Everyday credit card. When I download the t&c it says... on the first day you make a purchase of £1200 and do not make any further transactions.

I did not proceed but wonder if i am misunderstanding something. I wanted to use my card to pay for a holiday but I dont understand why they are saying "do not make any further transactions".

I am new to this so any advice well received.

many Thanks

It's just an example of how you might use the card.

All credit card companies use the example of somebody borrowing £1200 and paying it back over 12 months. You don't have to use it that way.
