And those are just the main ones i track, im sure there must be some empty ones around which arent fully closed.

Point being you are more than able to have multiple accounts, do you want this to be a joint account? I personally would look at banks with pay a decent interest amount, (depends how much you plan to save) and combine that with other accounts they have, for example lloyds earning 4% on balances between 3-5k and you get the added benefits of the lloyds regular saver which may work nicely for you. (and some free cinema tickets so you can still have some fun with the family while saving for your trip!)

If you're looking to open a new account I would take First Direct's £100 for switchign bonus and their 6% regular saver which gives good interest.. If you and your partner do that it could be quite beneficial.

Otherwise stick money into TSB's £100 switching offer and 5% interest on up to £2000 for easy access and good interest, if you can shove £500 monthly into it.


Either way, go for a high interest account to max your savings.
