MPG half of that advertised! How to get out of car agreement?

Possibly a lack of torque to pull 6th gear at the speeds your using it at.

I have done a bit of experimenting and i found 40mph in 4th gear uses less fuel than 40mph in 5th gear despite the revs being higher.
In 5th gear i found the throttle had to be pushed down more to maintain the road speed with an increase in fuel to match.

Same with 6th gear at 50mpg it uses more fuel than 5th gear.

Not a Mito though, so you need to test your car and see how it varies.

The torque on that engine is not brilliant.

My OH's car is meant to do late 50's, but over 3000 miles its doing 38mpg.

A friend has the Mito 1.4TB and is getting early 40's and thats mixed/fun driving.
