    Good to see you are taking an interest in your finances so young. Hopefully you'll no how to manage your money better than a lot of us on here when you get older.

    With regards to which bank you should go to all those banks you listed are fine. How about asking your parents what they think? Also check if they offer any freebies (like an mp3 player or something) that might persuade you.

    Also there is not much of a difference with solo/visa they're just operated by different companies.

    Personally I would just open whatever is easiest for you, as you still fall into an age bracket where your options are limited.

    ie: Barclays will only give you a connect card with a Parents permission, HSBC won't give you a solo card until 13 & Lloyds won't give you a debit card until 16.

    I wouldn't get too hung up about special offers, the majority of the better ones (ie MP3 players etc.) are only really offered on Student accounts.
