It is a while since I opened a YB/CB account, but I seem to remember that they were opened online.

Seems your memory is playing tricks. Very few if any of the YB/CB accounts can be applied for online. They can be managed online once your telephone or postal application has been accepted and once you have received all the access information.

As Colsten says in their reply, your memory is incorrect!

YB and CB are notorious for their failure to offer online application. Huge amounts of time were spent on the phone at the height of their switching offer because of this. Followed by reams of repetitive paperwork (none of which they appeared to be able to fill out for you, despite the long phone calls). We really earned that £150 switching bonus.

Their business banking allows an initial application online - but that's misleading - they follow that up with the same lengthy phone calls and reams of repetitive (and this time completely baffling) paperwork. And presto! Four months later you have your account opened.

So, if they really are going for online applications, let's all celebrate! Except that, er, it's too late now...

Can one only take advantage of the switching offer £150 once? I note on the website it says only if one hasn't had the incentive before but I note some people on here have done it several times? Thanks
