Hi. Hoping for some help please. I took out a monument in 2001 and I still have it now, although it was transferred to barclaycard in 2010. I submitted a ppi claim to barclaycard last month and have received a letter back saying my claim is upheld and they will pay my claim from 2001 until I cancelled the ppi in 2010. I am a bit confused as to how they have worked their dates out. Is it because they transferred to barclaycard in 2010 so automatically changed my ppi to payment break plan. (My sister made a claim with them and this is what she was told when she queried the dates)

I have been advised to send in a sar request on another forum but want to know if I would be wasting my time as they are saying its not ppi. Is it possible to claim for a payment break plan. Also, I haven't worked since 2009 due to bringing up children so wouldn't of been able to claim anyway if that makes any difference.. Thanks

Are you saying you want to complain about the payment break plan?
Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi
  • I complained about ppi and they upheld my claim and paid me but only until 2010. I have phoned them to ask why it stopped at that date and they said that's when my ppi policy ended, just like they told my sister. I am still paying payment break plan so I presume they changed it to this. I presume payment break plan is a different thing and I am wondering whether I can claim for that as well, considering I haven't worked since 2009 due to bringing up my children. Just want to make sure I am not getting fobbed off. Thanks

You can complain about it certainly. SOme people have had success with it.
Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi
  • Thanks. Bit impatient so phoned financial ombudsman and told them all the info I have and they are writing to barclaycard on my behalf. they said I should of been reimbursed from the when I started paying up to when I cancelled policy last month. We will see
  • I had a Monument claim upheld and they told me that once they had paid off the balance of the card they would send the rest to me. The amount of refund in total was 9083.33. Monument had sold its debts to Arrow Global, who in turn have Capquest dealing with things.

So was delighted to receive a cheque last week for 6708.41. I called Monument and they confirmed on the phone that they sent a cheque on the 23/7/15 to Arrow Global for the balance of the card which was 2374.92 and the account was now clear.

BUT! Capquest contacted me and insisted the balance had not been paid off. I had my cheque for the 6708.41 which I had put in the bank, and today the bank informed me that the cheque is UNPAID.
So having gone through all this claim, having had it agreed and finally having got a cheque out of them, the Cheque was not paid, just is marked as UNPAID on my account and now am being chased for balance on card by Capquest.

Arrow Global are trying to deal with Monument, I have no trouble getting through, each time on 0870 333 5487 I get a girl called DAISY, after exhaustive security, she confirms my balance is zero and tells me what i know, that they sent me a cheque, but Arrow Global claim Monument have not contacted them, Monument wont speak to Capquest.

In the meantime I have had this cheque for 6708.41 a ROYAL BANK of SCOTLAND Cheque for and on behalf of CCIS which has basically BOUNCED in my account. Cannot get any explanation as to why it is not paid.

Am trying to get it paid tomorrow, failing which I will post this dud cheque on every social media possible SOMEONE has to get a grip on these people, you go through all this get a statement and agreed sum and they issue a cheque that does not cash!

If anyone else has had such a thing let me know, but it seems the biggest complaints are not getting the Cheques, at least I got it, it just went unpaid. Maybe Monument or even RBS dont have any money left?

    Any Help?
