Hi,
I've purchased my first flat a few months ago (Completion date March to be precise) but havn't yet recieved the registration papers from my solicitors.
Does it take 4 months for the papers to reach us?
Please throw some light here.
Thanks

It depends. Was your purchase unregistered ?? As unregistered property can take a bit longer to register. Or maybe your solicitor sends the SDLT by post and not online, therefore it would take longer for the certificate to be returned to the solicitor and they can't register without it. Or maybe your purchase had a charge on it that had to be redeemed and its taking a while for the confirmation/evidence of this to be received by your solicitor which also needs to be sent with your application to change the register. Or maybe everything has been done and your solicitor just hasn't sent the completed registration to you.
I would just ring them and see, as it has been a while. Hope this helps0
