Yellow lines in private car park

My girlfriend went to the gym this morning which is on a retail park (Forge retail park in Telford). The gym has a small car park around the building but there's a McDonald's opposite and everyone there uses the gym's car park, so she parked on double yellow lines and came out to find a parking charge from AEJ Management.
I've had two parking charges for parking in my own work's car park a few years ago, I ignored both and after months of letters and threats they gave up. I'm not sure what to do in this situation though as she was parked on double yellows (albeit it on private land), but she is a paying customer who couldn't park outside the gym because non-paying customers had taken all the spaces.
Any advice on what to do?

yes, read the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of this forum
all you need to know is in there (even if it is in scotland)
also she should complain to the gym and demand a cancellation0 -
First things first - You need to read the NEWBIES thread which is at the top of this forum.
To save you looking - it is here>>>: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
Take a little time to read it carefully and understand the issues involved.
You will get help and advice here but you do need to do some of the legwork yourself. You can see by the number of posts in here that the regulars cannot help everyone from scratch.
Do not pay, do not mention who was driving. Do not ignore a Notice to Keeper.
Sounds like she got a windscreen ticket. Wait for the NTK unless she has a lease/company car.

I've read the sticky, but since it was double yellow lines I didn't know if things would be more difficult, since they could have photo proof which I thought would make their case easier.
So wait 3 weeks and send the template appeal? Should complaints be sent to the gym or the retail park owner/management company, and can you talk in the first person in those?0 -
complaints to the gym should be from the gym member
that gym member is not necessarily the driver, so assum that I was driving
yellow paint on private land is just yellow graffiti, with no bearing in law
yes she should have used a bay and not parked on yellow lines , but its a private car park so is between her and the landowner
any appeal is done as KEEPER, not driver , between day 21 and day 25 , obtaining a Free Certificate of Posting at the Post Office, keep this safe as proof of appealing
the drivers details are never disclosed , so maybe I dropped her off and parked there waiting for her to come out /
who knows ?
some gyms make you put the reg plate (VRN) into a machine, to prove patronage of the place
the parking company should concentrate on those parkers who are not using the gym, not legit parkers0 -

Read the traffic signs manual 1 section 1.20, they are breaching copyright laws using DYL.
