Whats the best carpet washer?

We've had a George for the last 5 years. It is an excellent carpet cleaner but fiddly to change between vacuum and fabric cleaner mode. It has saved several filthy rugs for us. We bought a Vax for my mother in December and it doesn't do such a good job or extract as much dirty liquid - thus leaving the carpet clean and nearly dry - as the George. I would definitely recommend a Henry. Apart from owning a George & a Henry, I have no affiliation with manufacturer:j .

These are usually around the £200 mark, so Amazon's clearance price of £137.87 including free Supersaver delivery is a bit of a bargain!

Received the Maytag Agility cleaner last week. Used it on one carpet and noticed that it wasn't great. Also the build quality was very poor and the button for turning the brushes on/off didnt work. Had a replacement model but the build quality on this was even worse and the plastic was all warped and the tanks didn't fit properly. Seriously don't know how it won the Good Housekeeping award unless they were all bribed.
Back to the search for a decent carpet washer- seems that nobody makes them! Wish Miele did then I know I'd get a decent one.

Never noticed the Bissell recon site before! Looks good. The new ones come with bottles of shampoo, hard floor cleaner, oxycleaner and Scotchguard included (well, mine did anyway!) - don't know if these are included with the recon models?

Only complaint is that I have to put a little weight on the front of the machine to increase the suction. Thus I'd get the most powerful one if I were buying again.

Bissell plus Stardrops keeps the carpets clean.
