debit card styles

Hi all,
A very childish question (and perhaps to lighten the tone somewhat - let me know if this is an inappropriate forum!)...
After dinner this weekend, when, as always happens when the bill is being split and not a soul has had the foresight to bring some cash, there was a large pile of debit cards awaiting collection by the peeved waiter. I noticed how ugly a number of these cards were, including my own matte, silver spirograph RBS Highline.
That got me thinking - are all RBS cards that ugly? Is there a website out there with pictures of cards so I can compare and settle the debate myself? Any thoughts on the nicest/ugliest cards?

Abbey let (or at least used to) you submit any picture or photo you want onto your card.
I think it was £5 or something.
Handy if you wanted your photo on it or something to make a shop question the picture if it got into the wrong hands.
Mostly a gimmick though.

Of course its not a childish question.....
Just a very very sad one indeed...........0 -
You could go to a search engine to search for debit card styles. It works though and saw a lot...0

NatWest Maestro cards (Servicecard 100) are dark blue and look quite smart. Their solo cards are mid-grey with a dark blue stripe across the top (and don't look quite as smart). The Servicecard 250 looks tacky: it's a "gold" colour with the blue stripe across the top.
Abbey debit cards are red, and look quite naff really. Credit cards come in red or black and look equally naff.
HSBC debit cards are grey and dull. Their credit card is red and black and looks less-than-smart.
RBS Highline cards are boring matt silver, but their Cashline cards are mid-blue and look ok.
Barclays debit cards are light blue now and look ok I guess.
Smile debit cards are pink and black - not to everyone's taste. Co-operative Bank debit cards look very dull.
Halifax and Bank of Scotland debit cards are quite drab blue affairs. Their black and silver Ultimate Reward debit card looks very smart though, but the card on their moneyback current account looks very tacky!
Nationwide's debit card is a pleasant mid-blue colour, and doesn't look too bad.
Alliance & Leicester's debit card is the colour of a swimming pool in summer... it looks quite good.
Lloyds TSB's debit card has a white background and has a picture of a horse on it... doesn't look particularly great, but it's better than the card they issue on their student accounts which has a vile yellow background!
First Direct's cards (both debit and credit) are smart, black, and classy. Probably the best looking cards out there.
So, yes, most debit cards look rubbish.
How do I know this? How am I so sad? I have accounts with all UK high street banks. That's how.0 -
Certainly an after dinner stopper. Oh well August is regarded as the silly season. I assume there was nothing more interesting to discuss than how the debit cards looked. Certainly beats the weather!!!!!!!0
