Hard drive failure - how to restore Windows 8?

In post #9 you state that the laptop is still under guarantee. It should therefore be returned to the retailer who will change the hard drive and restore the operating system free of charge. However, by removing the hard drive yourself they may argue you have invalidated the warranty and want to charge you for the replacement hard drive and a fee for restoring the OS. If that proves the point then you can follow the advice being offered on here.
First step for any pc or laptop still under guarantee should be to return it to the place of purchase for repair or replacement.0
