Its an optional update on my system not installed yet .

I have just checked and it is an optional update. I tend not to install these, preferring to wait until they are recommended. Thanks to your warning I have hidden it. It seems to be a microcode update for Intel processors, improving reliability and fixing issues that could cause O/S to function incorrectly. Unquote!0

Had no problem with it here (W8.1). Doesn't seem to be a massive universal problem.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

No problems here I am also running W8.10

I've been away, otherwise I might well have installed it when it arrived, and I can see that it's one of the available 'optional' updates. I am on Win 7, so I might wait for a bit and see what develops.0

Same here on three computers, I noticed that the reported problems in the link I posted are running W7, as I have never had a processor problem on any machine I have hidden the update for now and will wait and see if there are any more reports before deciding whether to bother installingI am on Win 70 -
Not really a problem that's gained any traction. Three people on that very short thread doesn't really give any reason to believe that it's the update and not their machines etc.Same here on three computers, I noticed that the reported problems in the link I posted are running W7, as I have never had a processor problem on any machine I have hidden the update for now and will wait and see if there are any more reports before deciding whether to bother installingDrinking Rum before 10am makes you
