I cancelled my membership in 2012 when I sold my car. In 2013 they sent me renewal papers, it was then that I informed them I cancelled my membership a year ago (in 2012).

Should I go ahead a cancel it now, they said they would refund this years payment ? However would this be an admission that I was aware of my membership... how do I proceed with this ?

Barclays said they can refund 2 years of DD payments (for 2015 and 2014), would AA then pursue me ?

Cannot find any proof of cancellation, everything was done on the phone..

The only irregularity is the payment before cancellation was around £130 a year, however after I called to cancel my membership they started taking around £65 a year.

Your credit card could try a cancelled recurring chargeback for the most recent charge. Try and find the date or month/year that you cancelled and they can try it for you. I doubt they can do the 2 years prev charges as there are time limits..

Even though I do not have proof of cancellation I've checked my bank statements for payments to AA:
    June 2011 - £184 ( I was a member then)
Cancelled my membership in May 2012
June 2012 - No payment taken
June 2013 - £65 ???? AA seems to have reactivated my membership without my consent
    June 2014 - £65
    June 2015 - £73

Is it ok to ask my bank to refund the payments for 2014/2015 that is as far back as my bank can go. Will AA pursue me for 2014 payment since according to them I was/am still a member ?

Ask AA then on what grounds they reactivated it. Demand a refund if they don't have any proof/explanation.

AFAIK, there is no a time limit for DD guarantee.

Membership is a mutual agreement, not one-sided.
Re your question, nobody here can give you a definite answer.

I cancelled my AA membership over 3 years ago, however to my horror I noticed they have been taking a payment every year for the past 3 years. Now I deleted my direct debit instruction. What should I do, can I get a refund ????

Who is at fault here, myself for not cancelling the direct debit, or that AA for taking money out of my account ??

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Chris
