Hi,
I am after some advice, if anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
I received a bill back in December 2014 from EDF. As I had not been with them for over two years I called and told them there must be a mistake but I was told it was the balance left when I closed the account. I told the person on the telephone I did not believe that there was anything left to pay as I cleared all debt when I closed the account. I did nothing and have just had another red letter, this time saying they well pass on to debt collection.
I have not had an account with them for three years now and I don't know how I find out if I really do owe them this money. I don't believe I do and really don't want to pay if I am right. Any advice?

Do not ignore.
Debts don't simply disappear if you ignore then, as you are discovering.
Ask for a copy of the original bill if you don't have it. Check it and see if you aree with it. If so, check you really have paid it. (your bank may be able to assist, for a price, if you haven't retained records)0
