Hello,
I have a Virgin Money Current Account and I have just received a letter saying they are making changes to charges for using your debit card abroad.
It reads..
Just an FYI really for anyone that this may be of interest too.

Great news if you are travelling abroad this summer
We have removed the 2.99% foreign exchange transaction fee from your account with immediate effect - we will update your terms and conditions at the earliest opportunity. This means if you are going abroad this summer, the only charge we will apply is:
> Cash machine withdrawals abroad: £1.50 per transaction
> Debit card purchases abroad: no charge
Just an FYI really for anyone that this may be of interest too.

I was going to ask if they load the exchange rate. According to the FAQ section on their website, they don't.

Although MasterCard exchange rate is invariably better than Visa.0

Banks all use the same terminology now.I was going to ask if they load the exchange rate. According to the FAQ section on their website, they don't.

Thanks OP
I opened an account today. The account also offers 1% in-credit interest which is a bonus and has very few charges.
Will be going abroad soon so will be great to use this card for purchases. It's a snazzy looking card too if the one in the leaflet is the same as the one issued.0
