My Shiny Suit

Hi All,
I haven't posted on here for a while and am not sure if I've got the correct form for this, but here goes. I have a expensive-ish suit that i only wore once about a year ago. I now need to wear this suit again as part of my new job.
The only problem is that when i fished it out of the wardrobe it was looking a little rinkled so i decided to iron it. Big mistake!
Both jacket and trousers and have now ended up with the material becoming shiny.
Is there any way to save my suit and get the shininess out of it?
Will dry cleaning help?
I know this is a little odd but any help would be great.
Thanks for reading!

Have a look at the label on the suit what is the materials used. I suspect that there is a % of man made and you would normally press the suit not putting a iron directly on the material.
I suspect that the suit can't be returned to its pre-ironed state hope for your sake i'm wrong .0 -
Try asking at the dry cleaners and see what they say.
But if you ever decide to iron your trousers again, here is what you do...
You can either iron them inside out , then turn them the right way.
get a damp tea-towel and press your crease, make sure the iron doesnt touch the trousers unless the tea towel is underneath it.
Or, iron the whole lot the rightside, but keep wetting the tea towel, squeezing it till its damp, and iron the whole trousers with the damp teatowel on top of your trousers.
Your trousers will be slightly damp, but just put them on a hanger and they will dry out in an hour or so.
your trousers/jacket wont have a shine if you always use a damp cloth or t/t:D
Just a thought....... Why dont you try this on one leg for example and see if it takes the shine away, you have got nothing to lose.0 -
My motherinlaw ironed mine through a tea towel.
Lucky she was there ;0
