I have a few WAV files and want to analyze the level of sound.

Im trying to find a simple free sound meter software that will tell me in dB what the value is?

You cannot be trying too hard.

Unless you are seriously mistaken about what exactly a dB level is?

Most of the software's i have seen only analyzes live audio and does not have a feature to import external audio files.

The sound level in dB of a wav file will entirely depend on how high you set your volume control and what amp you are using. It isn't inherent in the file itself. What software could give you is the dynamic range and frequency range and all sorts of other stuff.

It's a possibility that the OP recorded the files.
In this case some calibrated hardware had to be used for estimating the level of the original sound that was recorded.
