SSE problems
I was with Atlantic Gas and Electricity, they are now not a stand alone company but have been conjoined with SSE.
This year they supplied ( at my request) Smart meters for my gas & electricity.
I now want to change supplier as I have had a lot of problems with them. They did mention that not all suppliers accept the new Smart meters so I may find it difficult to change.
Anyone have any views/ opinions on this?

You'll be able to change without a problem, however the smart meter will cease to be smart, and will behave for all intents and purposes like an old fashioned "dumb" meter.0

How do I find out if an energy company I chose to switch to is acceptable/compatible with my smart meter from SSE? as not all companies use them. You live..You learn.:)0

There are none available at the moment for smart switching despite being told two years ago that its coming soon. Maybe it never will happen. So many people have been allowed to refuse a smart meter by the Government vote its maybe never going to happen because 25% of the total will never be on smart meters. There will be the nutty refuseniks, but there s a good percentage of meters where the fitters can not get at the meters or the space is nt available for the rather large smart electric meter. How do I find out if an energy company I chose to switch to is acceptable/compatible with my smart meter from SSE? as not all companies use them.0 -
Thanks for that info.
If I just swapped supplier and informed SSE would they just disconnect the smart equipment, thus enabling me to switch to anyone, or am I tied to them? You live..You learn.:)0
