A month ago and today I tried getting a price from parcel2go for this postcode, CO4 9HB. It repeatedly replied the item was too big or too heavy (at 3kg. No size asked or given). No problems with other addresses. Do you get the same result?.

That is odd, it doesn't matter what outgoing postcode or weight I put in it always shows:

Sorry but your parcel appears to be too big or too heavy.

even when I leave the weight blank it is the same.

However putting the postcode direct into MyHermes gives me a quote?

Thanks. Same for me. I was wondering if I needed to clear my cookies for a fresh quote but apparently not. I contacted UPS a month ago as they had shipped a similar parcel to another address for me via parcel2go without a problem. They confirmed they would deliver to that postcode but the parcel2go site still refused to offer quotes.

Every other postcode I've tried is fine on the parcel2go site, it is just the one you quote that brings up the error message for me.

I've tried CO4 7HB and CO4 8HB. They're fine. No idea what the problem is.

There was a self store forwarding address up that way, could that be it? If so, the address or post code may be blocked.

The parcels were heading for the self store but its also a companies return address where people work full time. Its a decent size company with regular deliveries. Its odd the intermediary parcel2go would block it but the courier companies accept it.

If that is the reason parcel2go should state that rather than a vague and obviously wrong reason about the size or weight.

I think if they receive a lot of claims (and they would receive more as an agent due to the number of carriers they offer) they may block the post code.

You will just have to use a carrier that doesn't exclude it.
  • Tried not putting the postcode in at all until inputting the delivery address in the checkout?
Postcodes are optional until that point.

I've given up. Parcels were a friends. Individual couriers will quote. Just needed to know if it was only me getting this result to that postcode. Tried contacting parcel2go but it seems impossible. There are no more parcels heading to that address from me so I won't benefit from putting more time into it.

    Thanks for the replies.
