Save on boiler electricity usage

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I wouldn't know how to formulate a good search to see if this is the case.
I just checked the electricity usage of my Worcester 24CDi boiler in idle (i.e. doing absolutely nothing) and it was 9W. I hardly use the boiler in the Summer as I produce my hot water from a gas-heated kettle (much more efficient in terms of energy and water usage) and so it's possible to save a fair bit of electricity by turning off the boiler completely.
May be it's the same with other boilers?

9W isnt much to worry about - it would take over 4.5 days for one unit of electricity to be consumed, and over 45 days to consume 10 units (at about a cost of £1). So you are looking at £2 total cost for the summer quarter."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
