The tick boxes in the declaration part are for someone who is administering the account on behalf of the account holder like a parent on behalf of a child. The boxes do not apply to you, you are the account holder and you can fill in the form yourself.

Just sign and date it in that section.

Sorry for this newbie question but when do I pay in the £500 a month to my TSB account? When does the monthly countdown start? Is it per calendar month or the month starts from the date I opened the account?

    It's a calendar month.

Some people reported they had issues when paying in on the 1st of a month, so you might want to do somewhere in the middle.

Ok so you say pay in the middle of the month, is the 15th of each month middle? If so my next pay in will be 15th September, What you think?

Sound a good date for your September deposit.

I registered by phone to receive interest gross on my TSB Classic Plus, so no R85 needed. Looking at my call log it seems I called 0345 835 3844 to do so, although that's given as the Internet Banking support number.

Whenever you like. You could pay a bit in each day if that was convenient, so long as a total of at least £500 went in during the calendar month. It's probably best to avoid the beginning and end of the month if you're using automated payments, as weekends and bank holidays change the payment date.

I believe only Santander bases the monthly accounting period on the date of opening.

    Update:

I heard that Tesco Bank is getting rid of the £5 monthly fee. So does that mean the payee doesn't have to pay in £750 into it every month to get the 3% Interest?
