    £300 down is really nothing. You probably need to do no more than wait for it to recover. You also need to harden up a bit; I have been thousands down at times; not pleasant but I don't lose sleep over it; C'est la vie. In the long term a wide selection of stocks (via funds) should increase in value on average.
