Computer Question: Firefox and saving passwords

My computer seems to not want to ask me any more if I want to save a password.
I used to get a little box up that gave me a choice.
The setting say all is well, but it ain't!
Any ideas please?

Check tools > options > security and make sure save password box is ticked. If it is try unticking it, close firefox then re-open and re-tick. I'd also suggest setting up a master password on the security page as well if you don't already, see the other tick box marked use a master password.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0

Or ditch the insecure firefox saved passwords and use something like Lastpass instead.
That way if you ever have to reinstall or use another browser - they are available.0 -
