I don't always agree with MMD on A&L issues, but on this occasion he is quite right.
Why is this MP wasting his and others' time on this daft EDM? He should be more concerned at making the banking market work for the adult consumer in Northern Ireland, where they get a bum deal.
It's not as if there is any shortgage of nationally available children's accounts paying great rates. Providers come and go but there is a healthy market out there.0 -
Closed the A&L account today, which was opened to save cheques (christening, birthday & christmas presents) written in my son's name.
If A&L really wanted to stop adults using this sort of account for frequent withdrawals, why don't they make it a notice account?
Real faff for the Saffron Waldon account. They need 2 forms of ID (certified). That means leg-work, photocopying charges (I don't have access to one) and the 2nd class stamp to send application form off.
I wonder if I can visit their agent in Dersingham (in-laws live nearby)?0 -
twins_2_Be wrote:A little update on Saffron Walden account...opened two of their BlueBird (I think thats what its called) for my kids. Customer Services has been very helpful and theyy have an 0800 to call not a 0870 number. So far would highly recommend them.....as a mutual they seem less likley to drop the rate drastically.
Another little update....after setting up the Saffron Walden LadyBird account we received little Samsonite Ladybird rusksacks for the kids. Top quality...wife was well impressed. Thumbs up to Saffron Walden!!It is not MY fault that I never learned to accept responsibility!0 -
Has anyone had problems with this?
In November, when we started to transfer from Barclays we were told that it would take three weeks.
By the end of January nothing had happened. We were told they had lost our paper work.
The next thing we heard was in April when started getting rejected DD charges, which they refuse to refund.
We have made many phone calls, been passed from pillar to post and feel very frustrated with the whole business.
Any idea on who to address complaints to?0
