Help logging into gmail

Hi I can't log into gmail because I can't remember my password . I've tried lots but to no avail, it asks me my last one I remember which I enter and it says it will send me a verification email but I don't receive anything can anyone help please

Did you set up an alternate emergency email account ? The email would go there

Gmail offers the following account recovery options:
Recovery email
Recovery phone
Secret question

Email them from another address, set one up if you haven't got and the should put you through a process of silly questions and answers. When you eventually get in set up an alternative email address. This often happens because some rsole in another country tries to access your gmail or Yahoo.

How?
Can you please advise how it was sorted?

Being locked out of my gmail account is one of my biggest fears - even though Ihave setup all the protection on it.
