  • Hi, I'm now in a similar position where I didn't cancel during the free trial however I did cancel the subscription on paypal hence the outstanding debt.
I only signed up for the trial because it was going to get me points on the survey site swagbucks, I don't actually have a clue what UseNeXT is or does.
Unfortunately before reading this thread I replied to the debt collector people today (it was the second email I've received). They say I have until the 12th of Sept to pay 'to avoid further additional costs and measures'.

Did anything ever happen with you guys? Were you ever taken to court or made to pay?
  • Like many people, I signed up for a trial but never used the service. At the time I signed up, it was a 30 day trial. Then I got an email saying my 14 day trial was up and they were charging me. I replied immediately and explained this, asking for my account to be cancelled and 95EUR returned. They said it was too late to cancel and would not be refunding me. So I cancelled the PayPal authorisation to make sure no more money came out.

Fast forward a year and they sent me an email saying my account was about to be renewed for another year and they'd be taking payment soon. Several emails went in both directions, along the lines of this:
Me: I told you last time that I don't want or need your service. Cancel my account and stop trying to take money.
Them: It's now too late to cancel. We'll be charging you for another year.
Me: Too late?? I cancelled over a year ago! Cancel my account immediately. Any attempt to take further money against my wishes will be met with legal action.
Them: We've reviewed your account and cancellations must be made 1 month before renewal. Your account has been suspended for non-payment. We'll cancel your account in 1 year but you still owe us for this year.
Me: Just give up - you're not getting a penny.

Today I got an invoice in the post. I've hung it next to the loo.
  • H. Just wondered if anyone has ended up with a dent on credit score / court summons? Just had first letter. No actually used their service since signed up about 4 years ago, but they kept auto renewal. Paid a couple of times out of PayPal, but canceled account at least 2 years ago. Should I be worried about heavies at my door / court?
