hi, a relation will be 80 in August and as he still dose some accounts for local firms I thought I would buy him a pen for about £30 to £40 pound and have it engraved it's OK if it costs a bit more, but my problem is I don't know anything about quality or to get a Ballpoint or a Roller pen .Can anyone advise me please.

Can you find out what sort of pen he uses now (ink nib/ballpoint/roller) as that's probably what he's used to. Make a note of the width of the body too, to see if it's slimline or fat or in between. Once you know that you'll be in a better position to make a choice.
For £30 - £40 a decent stationer should be able to provide you with something suitable, although if you have access to a shop that has a specialist pen department that's even better. I've never come across an engraved pen but I guess it would need to have a metal body, so that will limit your choice.0 -
