anyone had any dealings with them?
just got a Kingston sm2280s3/120 to go in my new intel nuc 513
loaded win 8 , wasn't happy (display via a hdmi/vga adaptor) , then tried win 7
decided it was,nt suited so I rebooted back , to my 2t 2.5 (openelec) , and the m2 has disappeared from the boot menu
removed the 2.5 , and there are no drives showing ,
its almost like a pendrive that has gone knackered,
just looked back on scans website , and they have either all been sold or all sent back , and I mean ALL of the Kingston ones.

Can you have two hard drives in them?0
-
yes , this is the reason I bought the nuc 513 , you can have a M2 and a 2.5in drive , and multiboot , this was to replace the n2820 that only held a single drive , and I had to change it when needed.
the multiboot on the 513 worked ok for about an hour , now the M2 just cannot be seen in the efei bios and it says M2 slot "unoccupied" , I have tried reseating etc , but its still not showing0 -
You got anything else you can test the drive or the slot with?
It's looking like a DOA drive though.0 -
well this is where it gets awkward , sata caddies and computers but no m2 devices (what has them?)
my final job was going to be re installing win7 or win8 on the 2.5 then run mini partition tools in order to format the m2 as ext 4 for a openelec setup (store films onboard) , but the drive just disappeared before I got close to that.
either a faulty nuc or a faulty m2 drive? , I will take a morning off work and drive to scan tomorrow0 -
trip to scan this morning , explained the problem , they had no 120 g in stock , so I paid extra for a 256g M2 card.
came home , still not seen by the NUC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
drove back to scan , M2 and nuc, they tested the returned item , IT WORKED
faulty Nuc
120 miles round trip , many hrs involved
working now tho ,0 -
Remember, in native mode (ACHI vs IDE), you don't see drives in the BIOS.0

there is no ide mode in the latest uefi bios , just a choice of achi or raid

Cool, didn't know that. Only used uefi once (current system). Wasn't aware0 -
even more worrying is on the "nuc" range , the bios is non seeable on the majority of hdmi tv,s
my new nuc is now duel boot , win 8.1 on a m2 and open elec media player on the other with Istream live streamed vids and tv
the i3 broadwell is a lot faster than the older n28300
