Carrington Carr PPI sold on a mortgage in 1999

Hi,
I am looking for a little bit of guidance.
When my wife and I took out our first mortgage on our house, our mortgage was with Cheltenham and Gloucester. This was arranged through Carrington Carr and they sold a lump sum PPI that was added to the mortgage.
Lloyds bank still have record of this.
We were told that the mortgage without the PPI was unavailable.
Is it too late for a claim?
Who do I send my claim to?
Thanks in advance for any advise and help.

Carrington Carr no longer exist. There have been some who suggest that the insurance company was responsible but there is no evidence of this. Certainly there is no published Ombudsman decision citing Carrington Carr and making an award against an insurer.
From 2005, L&G took responsibility for Carrington Carr but that was after your policy was sold.0 -
Hi...
I was 'sold' the same thing from AWD, later renamed Carrington Carr. I was contacted by the solicitor who dealt with my mortgage and told there was a possibility that I was missold... I went through a recommended solicitor and was sent a cheque for just under £9000.. I had to pay the solicitor 12.5% of that... In hindshight could have probably done it myself, but 12.5% wasn't too bad considering what I have heard others paid....0 -
You do not say when you were missold the policy. This is critical to a successful complaint.0

When where you sold the insurance and who did you actually claim against?
Thanks0 -
hi there - your comment appears to be exactly the same as my issue with Carrington Carr - did you go through Mac Fin or through your own solicitor. Could you offer any advice as to who to contact etc. sorry for all the questions - and I appreciate you are probably happy that all the work on your issue is over - but anything would be appreciated.

I was contacted by Carrington Carr in 1999 and took out a re-mortgage with them with PPI. I also paid a lump sum as an extra on my mortgage. Mine was with Adminicle Ltd and the solicitors were Lees LLoyd Whitley, Wirral, CH41 6JN. Anyone know how you go about claiming, or could give me any advice how to do this. Any help would be very much appreciated. Ruth0

Carrington Carr no longer exist and L&G only took on responsibility for for post 2005 sales. The FSCS only consider post Jan 2005 sales.
So you have no-one to complain to as the company who had liability doesnt exist any more.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
