Our kitchen is a Magnet fitted kitchen, it was in the house when we moved in about 9 years back probably about 15 years old in total, we like the layout, but would like to update it a bit with new doors draw fronts and worktop etc. Don't really want to go into the mess in ripping it all out for a completely new kitchen. anyone have any experience of firms like Dream Doors or similar. Any advice or recomendation of firms in Taunton area who would be able to do the work appreciated

I did this to a kitchen not that long ago and it was a joiner who helped me, no need to go to a specialist company. Hopefully someone will be able to recommend a reputable joiner in your area.0

From my experience these companies charge a premium for what is in fact basic work with bog standard materials..
If you do get quotes from these types of "refurbish" companies then get some quotes to replace the whole kitchen from a self employed fitter.
You may well find its cheaper to replace the entire kitchen.0 -
Dream Doors :rotfl:
Don't bother, they quoted us 5k just to change a few doors and worktop !
We got a brand new Magnet Trade kitchen for £3k with a better layout
There are a few places online that you can buy doors from they driil holes to your requirements , or have a measure of them all and pop to B+Q and Wickes as they sell doors off the shelf, just need to make sure the holes and fixings line up with yours0 -
I saw a kitchen worktop change and new doors job on a job we did not long ago. The owner struck me as a bit tight, the kitchen was pretty old and the tiling was awful.
It probably cost him a grand to fifteen hundred, and to be honest, it looked pretty crap. He would have been better, in the long run, putting 4k or so to it and having a new kitchen, he had the money!0 -
A neighbour had Dream Doors do his kitchen. He is coy about the cost for understandable reasons. The experience was a disaster from the wrong worktops, to poor worktop fitting, to missing doors and damaged items.
I know that it cost many thousands and that the promised one day job went on for many weeks with vans and fitters going to and fro.
I accept that any job can go wrong, but the key is then to rectify quickly. This was beyond the capability of Dream Doors, as was any concept of checking components after unpacking them, nor even ensuring that sufficient parts had been loaded on their vans.0
