You say you applied for DLA, on what grounds? I ask this because it is paid on how the illness/disability affects you day to day (not including housework and shopping) not because of a diagnosis.
DLA can take 12 weeks for a decision.
Have you applied for Housing benefit and council tax benefit?
Your partner will not be entitled to income support unless he recieves Carers Allowance. Then he would have to apply for Income support. (just working on what I have been told)
If you don't get Middle or high rate care component then he will not be able to claim carers and will have to go back to jobseekers.
I suggest you contact a welfare rights advisor otherwise you may end up in a bit of a mess. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10

DLA claims are taking about 12 weeks at the moment (longer if they want you see an EMP).
You can try this to see if you are entitled to anything else:

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

Now that YOUR IB claim has been decided, YOUR IS claim now can be. Assuming your curcumstances were the same when your partner was getting JSA, then YOU will get the same couple's rate of IS.
Just give your Jobcenteplus Benefit Centre a ring to ask when the IS claim will be decided.0 -

I think that to be eligible for DLA you need to have had the difficulties for some months. Most people use crutches for a while following an arthroscopy, it isn't usually a permanent disability.0

In order to claim DLA for anything, the coindition needs to have existed for at least 3 months, and be expected to last (and confirmed by a GP/consultant) for 6 months or more onwards.
