New DLA award

A recent DLA renewal was awarded until 2020. Does this mean it's now guaranteed to be paid for the next 5 years or could it still be switched to PIP at some point?

According to that a PIP claim form should have been sent out already when the DLA was due for renewal last month but they sent DLA forms instead and have given a 5 year award.

The currently revealed plans are to have everyone move over to PIP who is of working age before 2017 ends.
The current length of award means little, unless it reaches past the 65th birthday.

It would not surprise me if they consider at that time migrating over people over the required age at the moment - claiming DLA to PIP.
