Borough of Hounslow Bus Stop CCTV PCN

Dear Group

Hopefully someone can help and give some advice.

I received a PCN through the post and attached is the dropbox link and description of offence.

I have viewed the CCTV of the incident and shows me at the bus stop for 17 seconds. I had a Customer on board as a licensed Tfl PHV driver and was dropping the Customer at a vet , the cat in cage was making a lot of noise and was distressed and upset and didnt travel well, I was getting very distracted by this as well. There was no parking behind and in front was a zebra crossing. I Stayed a total of 17 seconds at the bus stop.

I Wanted to attach a link to my dropbox which has the ticket (offences and image), CCTV clip, pictures of the Bus Stop, signage and streetview link. As a new user the site will not allow me to do this. (Any advice on that as well)?

Now 17 seconds I think was very quick and I know Hounslow have this image of being very unreasonable. Hounslow's parking is contracted out to a private company called Serco which also manages parking for Brent and Ealing as well as Hounslow. In this part of Chiswick HIgh Road there are 4 eyeball CCTV cameras alone as well as a massive camera at the junction.

There is no signage warning of CCTV that I could see anywhere and the small eyeball cameras are camouflaged behind tress, very very sneaky! The signage on the bus stop is situated at the front of the bus stop so if you stop at the rear you don't see it.

The photo of the incident on the CCTV doesn't have a clear image of my number plate either.

Any advice or tips would be gratefully received and much appreciated.

Rob Palmer

You need to head over to Pepipoo's Council Parking Tickets & Clamping and Decriminalised Notices forum, where they deal with such penalty tickets.

    Hi

I would just advise you to pay it - as you had clearly stopped in a bus lane and they have evidence of it. It's not worth appealing this. How do I know this? Because I used to work at the London Borough of Hounslow and the same thing happened to me - when I stopped at a bus stop for a few second to drop my husband off at the tube station that was on the opposite side of the road. Anyhow as soon as I received the ticket I went straight to the Parking team (when it was still in-house) and asked for their good advice. They viewed the footage with me present and they quote what parking offence I had committed and explained to me that whilst I can appeal it - it's clearly not worth my while as I wouldn't have a leg to stand on. So sadly I ended up paying it

I thought these low-life bottom feeding councils were being banned from trapping people in this way by spy camera. Has it not happened yet?
