Thank you Guest101. What you said makes good sense. Thank you for clarifying.
Debt collectors for a £3.49 debt? Extraordinary! It seems it would be cheaper to write off than to chace such a small amount.0 -
I hope that you are able to ask the LL what is going on, if he/she has changed agencies and to whom you should pay rent.0

Thank you deannatrois.
So far, we have not had a reply in regards to our written request (to both agents) for the landlord's contact details. I think I have found the landlords on Facebook and I have found a business email address for one through a large, international company they work for, but I don't know if that's an appropriate way to contact them.0 -

So far, we have not had a reply in regards to our written request (to both agents) for the landlord's contact details.....1 Disclosure of landlord’s identity.
(1)If the tenant of premises occupied as a dwelling makes a written request for the landlord’s name and address to—
(a)any person who demands, or the last person who received, rent payable under the tenancy, or
(b)any other person for the time being acting as agent for the landlord, in relation to the tenancy,
that person shall supply the tenant with a written statement of the landlord’s name and address within the period of 21 days beginning with the day on which he receives the request.
(2)A person who, without reasonable excuse, fails to comply with subsection (1) commits a summary offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding level 4 on the standard scale.
I'd be wary. Can you be sure you have the correct person? And if you have, you have no idea how he might react to contact. After all, he has apparantly chosen to use an agent (or agents!) to field communication between you.I think I have found the landlords on Facebook and I have found a business email address for one through a large, international company they work for, but I don't know if that's an appropriate way to contact them.
Tread diplomatically and sensitively.....0 -
Thank you G_M.
The old agent has come back to us to confirm that the 'new' agent is in fact our new agent.
My husband met with the new agent this week to discuss renewing the contract and concerns mentioned in previous posts.
Still no word about the landlord's details, but it appears they have 21 days to reply....so, I wait.
Thank you again for all of your helpful advice. I feel I've been in a better position to deal with all the issues that have arisen due to your input. Thank you!0
