Does anyone know of a forum or website that deals with phone installation and extensions etc for the homeowner (not for professional installers which is all I seem to be finding).
All the DIY forums and Av forums etc dont seem to deal with phone stuff.
Any ideas? I want to hard wire new bedroom extensions and not just get a plug in kit but I've a few queries and not sure where to get help.

Alternatively go to www.diynot.com and search the forum using 'phone wiring'.

I would like to know if he could come and stay for the weekend and sort out all my phone problems?
I could do a mean roast and the biscuit barrel is full? :rotfl:
My main query is - can I have 4 separate phone cables going into a main socket if I just twist the wires together (obviously keeping the correct colours together) and use one set of connections. If I can do this, it would be much neater and all the wires would be behind the wall. If I can't do this then I'll have to use adapters etc and have more cable on show.
I know there are 8 way splitters and lots of other things but I have no idea how to use them which is why I wondered if there was a step by step guide or something. It seems easier just to twist the wires together and connect as one.
All the diy stuff in B&Q etc say that it's usual to use 4 wires, my main socket only has 3 connected, the rest are twisted out the way. Phone has always worked so what am I missing?
If you have several extensions and use various adapters etc, does this have an impact on the quality of your phone line?
I had loads of questions a while ago but I've forgotten them!
