Tax advisor vs. CA vs. IFA

Hi,

I need some help to understand the following:
1) tax implications if any, for gifts from family living abroad
2) property purchase related to the above & mortgage advise
3) financial review - my pensions, exiting mortgage and tax relief

I am not sure who to get advise from. HMRC are too busy to help today as unable to get through to someone on the phone.

Thinking long term, I feel I should employ a professional but which one : a Tax advisor, a Charted accountant or an IFA?

All of them will charge for their services so I want to be most cost efficient as possible and any guidance would be useful.

Speak to an accountant for your tax advice and an IFA for your mortgage/investment advice.

An IFA might be able to help with the tax advice but its not necessarily their area of expertise. Its unlikely accountants will give you mortgage advice.

I'd find someone local you can meet face to face if I was you. Ask around your friends and colleagues for recommendations.
