Hey Cel,
Sorry I've been a bit AWOL recently. Sounds like you are doing really well though and making lots of little savings, which all add up!
Have you started at your new job now? If so, I really ope that it is going well.

Hiya thanks for popping in, I love how supportive this board is! :hello:
Long time since I updated as very little MFW news (feeling somewhat of a MFW fraud). I’ve settled into my new job now, DD is happy in nursery and seems excited when she goes each morning which is lovely. Her sleep pattern is a bit all over the place when she’s there but it should settled down soon. She wants to play so is falling asleep in random spots
Counting down until payday so I can make an OP and can get on with bits in the house, keep trying to decide where to start. If I've still got any money left the day after payday i'll be amazed
Hoping to get a weekend away somewhere in UK before Christmas, going to suggest to OH that we do that instead of buying presents for each other that we don’t need. I’ve been catching up with lots of diaries, and glad I’m not the only one thinking about the big C word already:xmassmile
we’ve been watching the pennies due to the upfront cost of childcare, the one thing I really need to work on it better meal planning, been throwing away so much fresh stuff as it’s not been used in time, not very MS! Makes me cross. Been making sure to pop to Ald* on the way home, it’s so east to just pop to tesc* for everything!
Very happy with the recent change in OH in relation to finances. One of his close friends is very money savvy, and he seems to inspire him more than my ramblings do (but it’s all good). I think sometimes he thinks to save money you need to be tight. His friend is like a lot of people on this board he's generous with money and does all the things he wants to do, he just makes sure he gets everything for the best price, which is what it's all about.
We’re still in the process of re-mortgaging, we’ve had to have a surveyor around and it seems to be such a longer process than it used to be! Grr, we’ll get there!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

Hi Cel
Just read your diary. Glad to see you have settled in to the new job.
Can't believe you mentioned the C word alreadyI know everyone always says this but I just can't believe how fast this year is going!

I know really don't know where this year has gone!!
Only a token OP made following payday, we had to replace our fridge freezer which was unplanned but thankfully all sorted now. Also put a bit of money aside for car Mot which is due soon. Fingers crossed. I think I’ll get MOT out of way then look again at our target no point in overpaying when potential bill to follow.
Good news on the re-mortgage front, we’ll be on our new deal in a couple of weeks. We got a 85% LTV deal which makes our payments lower. I’ve changed our energy supplier which is live now. Cheaper and better customer service, our last supplier was completely useless! I’m more organised house-wise so less popping out for something for tea all the time. Was driving me batty.:money:
Completely know where you're coming from LuckyInLife, Sometimes I get slightly frustrated with family and friends who I think assume we’re made of money all the time. I recently took a family member out and took some food for DD as arranged. She informed me dinner time we’d have to eat out as she hadn’t brought anything for her daughter so my options were spending over £10 on my card where we were for some dinner for DD (as I had no cash), or her ‘thoughtful’ suggestion of me driving us all across town, paying to park, so we could eat somewhere cheaper. DD hardly touched her food and it felt such a waste. maybe I just got out of bed the wrong side this morning

Very poor at updating my diary! Some progress/ targets set for this year. I'll update my sig when I get chance. Hoping updating my diary will keep me motivated :j
So far in the last week. ..
Picked up extra hour OT
Received £150 for switching bank (sent straight to savings)
Received bid on item listed on eBay, need to arrange collection will be glad of the space :T funds going toward some bits and pieces for the garden
Need to be more organised, popped out for milk and spent £10.. grr
Pleased I've taken dinner into work for last few shifts (although as our staff canteen is closed at the weekend so perhaps cheating).
Continuing to lurk on diaries getting MS ideas

Evening
We're currently OPing by £100 per month, and adding to this where possible throughout the month. We're due to re-mortgage the end of next year. roughly looking at the figures if we continue with current OPs we will hopefully be able to re-mortgage with 20% equity. So happy with this :j !! Without monthly OP we wouldn't be able to achieve this. Target is set
Aiming to trim monthly spends, thought I was good on this front but seem to have lost the plot again  a few no car days, taking only cash no cards should help on this front. I want to get back to using our days out passes. I've given myself a weekly spend amount and will stick to this ! Ideally I want to manage my wages better so I don't need to pick up as much OT. Not much OT going for next few weeks so more time with my DD
Enjoying reading everyone's diaries, I continue to lurk

Great to hear you're managing to find such a sizeable amount to OP, well done :Ta penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0
