Where can I put £18000 with easy access?

Hi I have £18000 earning nothing in a bank account, where is the best place to put it? I currently bank with Halifax, is my best option to open and put it in a santander 123 and have my wages paid into that as well. I don't need the money as the minute but I may do in a few months.

How about putting some into peer to peer? I know I will only need £5000 short term0

With just £18K, I wouldn't bother personally as you are unlikely to net more from P2P than from current accounts unless you take very high risks - in which case you might lose your money.
But hey, whatever floats your boat0 -
